نویسندگان

چکیده

Objective: To describe Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum (Fon) as the causal agent of vascular withering in watermelon crop (Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.) Matsum and Nakai). Design/Methodology/Approach: A review scientific literature (scientific books, notes articles) was carried out about Fon crop; biology, symptoms, disease cycle, isolation management alternatives. Results: Withering from is main fungal this worldwide. Necrosis tissue plant are most characteristic symptoms disease. There four races fungus (Fon race 0, 1, 2 3); commercial varieties watermelons have different degrees resistance to these races. Practices such correct diagnosis, use grafts, solarization, fungicides, biological products genetic can significantly reduce impact on production. Findings/Conclusions: In Mexico, knowledge scarce despite being one factors that limits The greatest fungus’s presence distribution races, diagnosis alternatives management, will allow integrating appropriate practices favor production crop.

The FonSIX6 gene acts as an avirulence effector in the Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum - watermelon pathosystem

When infecting a host plant, the fungus Fusarium oxysporum secretes several effector proteins into the xylem tissue to promote virulence. However, in a host plant with an innate immune system involving analogous resistance proteins, the fungus effector proteins may trigger resistance, rather than promoting virulence. Identity of the effector genes of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum (Fon) races...

Root Exudates from Grafted-Root Watermelon Showed a Certain Contribution in Inhibiting Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum

Grafting watermelon onto bottle gourd rootstock is commonly used method to generate resistance to Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum (FON), but knowledge of the effect of the root exudates of grafted watermelon on this soil-borne pathogen in rhizosphere remains limited. To investigate the root exudate profiles of the own-root bottle gourd, grafted-root watermelon and own-root watermelon, recircul...

Growth responses of in vitro Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum to external supply of tannic acid.

Allelochemicals released from root exudates or decaying residues of plants play diversified roles in ecological interactions of plant-pathogen. The objective of this work was to evaluate the allelopathic effect of an externally supplied tannic acid on soil-borne in vitro Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum. Results showed that the tannic acid decreased the growth of the fungus up to 9.5% at 800 mg...

Antifungal Activity and Action Mode of Cuminic Acid from the Seeds of Cuminum cyminum L. against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Niveum (FON) Causing Fusarium Wilt on Watermelon.

In order to develop a novel biofungicide, the antifungal activity and action mode of cuminic acid from the seed of Cuminum cyminum L. against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum (FON) on watermelon was determined systematically. In this study, the median effective concentration (EC50) value for cuminic acid in inhibiting mycelial growth of FON was 22.53 μg/mL. After treatment with cuminic acid, th...
